Mr. Gore was more than happy to take photos with some lucky staffers. Dara asked him the best question of the night if not the week, asking what it was like to be on "30 Rock."

On Wednesday evening Larry hosted an extraordinary meeting at NWF's downtown National Advocacy Center, with Vice President Al Gore, the leadership of the Alliance for Climate Protection, the CEOs of the Green Group, and leadership of several other climate advocacy-related organizations.

The outcome from this meeting was a decision to launch more coordinated cross-community climate campaign effort. The Alliance is in the process of placing 250 climate organizers in target states. This will swell the ranks of other efforts such as the green group's collaborative climate campaign (C-campaign - which NWF is a major player), and the work of other groupsin attendance such as 1Sky, Energy Action Coalition, USCAN, etc. who also have climate field campaigns underway.

At this meeting, it was decided that a daily "war room" call was needed to coordinate the field strategies with all the key field campaign organizations aimed at moving our congressional targets and getting the votes to win.

In recognition of NWF's leadership on climate, NWF and the Alliance will jointly manage the war room. And at this meeting, the CEO's appointed our own Adam Kolton to lead the calls with Claudia Malloy and Steve Bouchard (field director for the Alliance). Several other NWF staff will need to be available for these calls on a regular or irregular basis, and will be contacted individually.

Overall, it was an extraordinary evening, a big day for NWF, and a big step forward for our climate solution aspirations.
