NWF Welcomes Two New Regional Representatives

Emily Maxwell
A former
Doris Duke Conservation Fellow, Emily has
served as Director and Coordinator of the
Catalyst Program of Partnerships for Parks in
New York, Vermont Public Interest Research
Group's Field Director, and coordinator of a
community greening and environmental education
initiative in Philadelphia. In addition, Emily
founded an organization dedicated to protecting
and expanding community gardens in NYC. Emily's
interest in diverse coalitions led her to
co-author Building Capacity Through Diversity,
a report that explores building the efficacy of
the environmental movement through diverse
partnerships. Emily has a BA in Urban
Studies from the New School for Social Research
and an MS in Natural Resources and Environment
with a specialization in Environmental Justice
from the University of Michigan. Raised
in downtown Philadelphia, Emily fell in love
with the outdoors, especially canoeing,
kayaking, gardening, hiking, and snowshoeing
during frequent trips to the Adirondack
Mountains throughout her
life.
