The two links below are more information on how the House Stimulus would advance clean energy and an example of a letter of support to the House Appropriations Committee.

The house will be voting on Wednesday, January 28 and we need your help!

Please call your Representatives (especially Republicans) and tell them to VOTE YES!

The Green projects in the House package will

Over the last couple of months the national environmental community has pulled together a vision for how to repower, refuel, and rebuild America, restore our heritage, and fix aging infrastructure where necessary. We've identified ready-to-go projects that create 3.6 million jobs and lay the foundation for a stronger economy in the years to come.

We think the House gets it about right in using our national parks, forests and refuges to spur economic growth by fixing roads and bridges and modernizing visitor center and other visitor amenities with solar panels, energy efficient light bulbs, and windows.  This modernization saves energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions while at the same time improves the experience visitors have when visiting Yellowstone, Yosemite, or Independence Hall.

The House bill also will go a long way towards increasing energy efficiency, promoting renewable energy and modernizing electricity transmission.

It invests retrofitting government buildings, schools, military facilities, and public housing and will help millions of Americans weatherize their homes - saving them from paying higher heating and cooling bills.  It provides tax incentives to develop renewable energy.

In the weeks to come we hope the Senate can meet - if not exceed - what the House has proposed and we will send out another update and request for action. In the meantime please call your Representatives (especially Republicans) and tell them to VOTE YES on Wednesday!!
