Minnesota Conservation Federation Works to Provide Funding for Wildlife and Conservation

Friday, December 12, 2008

(National Wildlife Federation)

The Minnesota Conservation Federation (MCF) worked diligently over the past 10 years to provide dedicated funding for wildlife and conservation.  Those efforts culminated in passage of the "Clean Water, Land, and Legacy" constitutional amendment on November 4.  The amendment guarantees general fund investments for the next 25 years for habitat, hunting, and fishing needs and priorities.  The amendment will also provide funds to clean up rivers, lakes, and streams, funds for state and regional parks, state and regional trails, and arts, history, and culture programs.  MCF thanks all the sportsmen's clubs and individuals who volunteered time and resources to work for passage of the constitutional amendment!  Read MCF Executive Director Gary Botzek's legislative update for more details.  The MCF will re-launch http://www.theamendment.org/ on January 1, a site for news and accountability on the amendment.  People will have an opportunity to post articles to this site.
